Traditional Usui Reiki

Lineage-based Reiki training, taught with structure, clarity, and responsibility

Traditional Usui Reiki at Elysians Wellness Hub follows the original Usui system, transmitted through lineage and taught with respect for its structure, pacing, and ethical foundations.

This path is for individuals who want to study Reiki in its traditional form, without additional psychological or integrative frameworks.

Reiki is taught here as a practice and discipline, not a belief system.

What Traditional Usui Reiki Is

Traditional Usui Reiki is:

  • a lineage-based system of practice

  • hands-on and experiential

  • grounded in daily application and responsibility

  • developed through consistent practice over time

It is not:

  • a religion or spiritual doctrine

  • a medical or psychological treatment

  • a fast-track certification system

Training Structure

Traditional Usui Reiki is taught across four levels, each with its own scope, responsibility, and depth.

Progression is intentional and inquiry-based, not automatic.

Level I - Shoden

Foundations of Reiki Practice
Shoden establishes the foundation of Reiki practice within the Usui system.

Focus:

  • introduction to the Usui Reiki system

  • Reiki principles (Gokai)

  • energy awareness and grounding

  • direct, hands-on Reiki practice (in-person)

  • ethical foundations and scope of practice

  • Level 1 certification (upon completion)

Practice & Certification Clarification

  • Personal Reiki practice does not require certification
Individuals may practice Reiki on themselves for personal use without formal certification.

  • Practicing Reiki with others (direct, in-person) requires:

  • completion of Reiki Level 1 (Shoden)

  • certification confirming training completion

  • Teaching Reiki or attuning others is not permitted at Shoden level.

Level II — Okuden

Practitioner Development

Focus:

  • expanding Reiki practice with others

  • traditional Reiki symbols and their application

  • distant Reiki practice

  • deeper ethical responsibility

  • Level 2 Reiki attunement

  • supervised or guided practitioner development

This level supports broader application while maintaining clear scope.

Attunement & Mentorship Responsibility

Focus:

  • advanced Reiki practice

  • understanding and transmitting attunements

  • mentoring and supporting students

  • responsibility within lineage

This level emphasizes stewardship, not status.

Level IV — Shihan

Teaching & Stewardship
